2011 INTERNATIONAL DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION SPRING CONFERENCE
In April 2011, Chicago Loop Alliance hosted the International Downtown Association (IDA) Spring Conference–a four-day long series of workshops, tours, and networking opportunities focusing on Policy’s Role in Shaping Place. With 600 influential members, IDA is a powerful ally in promoting Chicago to the world.
The conference themed “Policy’s Role In Shaping Place” showcased topics that informed, influenced and inspired. Subjects included:
- Job creation in city centers
- Financing in challenging times
- Transportation policies and initiatives
- Shifting roles of the government in shaping our cities
- Greening and Sustainability in downtowns
More than 200 guests enjoyed valuable networking opportunities. Many of the attendees stayed afterwards for the wealth of culture and entertainment in Chicago’s downtown. With help from the Palmer House Hilton and other members in hospitality, dining, entertainment, and cultural sectors, Chicago Loop Alliance showcased the best of Chicago.
