OPEN STREETS ON STATE STREET
Open Streets is returning to the Loop on Saturday, September 8, from 10 am - 3 pm. Enjoy Chicago's historic Loop -- with its breathtaking architecture, renowned museums, and world-class dining and entertainment -- when it is transformed into the ultimate playground. Play among skyscrapers, take in a pop-up performance, or skate a half-pipe: an urban adventure starts on State Street.
Launched in 2011, Open Streets promotes community culture, provides a chance for families to get out and have fun, and allows everyone to experience the Loop in a new and exciting way. An afternoon’s worth of activities brought more than 15,000 people into the Loop for the inaugural Open Streets on State Street.
The event is presented in partnership with Active Transportation Alliance, and supported by the Illinois Center for Broadcasting, Walgreens, REI, and PNC Bank.
