Higher Education Study & Student Survey
Prepared in 2009, the Higher Education Study & Student Survey examines the impact of over twenty-four higher education institutions in Chicago’s Loop and South Loop. Sponsored by the Chicago Loop Alliance, the study shows that the higher education institutions in ZIP codes 60601-60605 bounded by the Chicago River (north), Wacker Drive (west), Roosevelt Road (south), and the lakefront (east) have a potent impact on the Chicago economy, as well as the character of the downtown.
The study was conducted by a Work Group of Loop/South Loop institutions, convened by DePaul University. The Regional Economic Applications Laboratory of the University of Illinois, provided an econometric analysis of data supplied by the Work Group.
