A Hyatt hotel is coming to the heart of Chicago's central business district under plans revealed today by Crain's Chicago Business.

The redevelopment of the existing vintage office building at 100 W. Monroe St. will convert the 22-story Loop office tower into a hotel with more than 250 rooms, a restaurant and bar, and meeting space.

This marks the third major hotel development project planned or currently underway in the Loop, with the city's first Virgin Hotel and the recently-announced Hotel Indigo expected in late 2013 and early 2014, respectively.
