The face of the Loop has changed.  It's satisfying to say it's no longer simply a workplace destination.  The Loop is becoming one of the most charismatic business, educational, residential and cultural communities in the country.  With the upcoming completion of Block 37, the Palmer House renovation, the new CBS TV facility and a reconstructed Wabash streetscape promoting Jewelers Row, the face of the Loop continues to develop into the fullest expression of itself and all who live, work, study and play within its borders.

Much of the credit goes to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley who had the vision for the Loop to become a 24/7 mixed-use destination.  Credit and kudos are also due to the loyal members of Chicago Loop Alliance whose bold vision and tireless energy keep the area vital with their ideas, investment and support of progressive new works and programming that make the Loop so dynamic.

In this year's annual report, we are recognizing a few of the individual faces behind the changing face of the Loop.  Through acknowledging theirs and other members' contributions, we intend to celebrate and appreciate the power of partnerships and collaborative efforts.

Moving ahead, we are designating 2008 as the official Year of the Loop.  With the exciting openings of the new Modern Wing at the Art Institute, theWit Hotel, the highly-anticipated opening of Block 37 and the addition of more green space provided by Pritzker Park, we look forward to a busy and electrifying year.  Our goal, as always, is to elevate the Loop community both locally and globally by creating meaningful and sustainable partnerships.
